Quality

To survive and thrive in an environment of global competition, quality is not an option but a necessity. Being aware of that, we believe in the constant improvement of our daily work. Our Internal Quality Program (IQP) contemplates the following components:

  • Monthly quality meetings
  • Training programs
  • Study of clients' feedback reports
  • Claims Ratios and Statistical Reports
  • Corrective Action Plans and Improvement Opportunities

Universal Cargo achieved ISO 9002 certification in November 2000. The certification includes packing, unpacking, conditioning, loading and unloading, storage, protection of cargo, transportation, custom clearance and international household goods and personal effects forwarder. In November 2003, Universal Cargo successfully completed the transition to ISO 9001:2000.

This was the previous step for the FAIM/ISO certification granted by FIDI (FEDERATION INTERNATIONALE DE DEMENAGEURS INTERNATIONAUX) headquartered in Brussels. FIDI, the most established moving federation in the world, has developed the highest quality standards in our business. Its aim is to achieve a unique quality control system for all FIDI members.

The system tests all the aspects of our business. The following ones are checked independently: customer satisfaction, cash flow, credit history, filing system and check of our equipment and vehicles.

All FIDI international moving companies have to comply with FAIM standards. FIDI monitors these standards every two years. In order to keep FAIM certification, every company has to fulfil all requirements by 90%.

The requirements of FAIM/ISO are far more superior to those of the FAIM certification. We would like to stress that Universal Cargo was the first company in Latin America to obtain this certification.
