Cars must get to Argentina within 6 months after the customer`s arrival. Although it is not essential for the customer to be physically present at Customs for clearance formalities, he must be in the country to subscribe some forms and hand in his original passport.
Only used cars may be imported (one per spouse). These vehicles are subject to taxes. About 79% of the CIF value must be paid as taxes for oil vehicles and 100% for diesel engine vehicles.
The import of new cars is subject to special regulations and limited to certain types of vehicles. The car must be under the customer`s name. . |

Valid passport which clearly shows that the customer has been residing abroad for at least 12 months and that such residence has not been interrupted with entries into Argentina for more than 60 days in the last 12 months prior to re-entry.

Complete original vehicle documents.
Authorization to our company subscribed by the customer to perform the Customs clearance.

Used cars may be imported under temporary admission. The vehicle shall be granted temporary admission for a maximum term of 16 months, after which it must be exported from Argentina.

Foreign diplomats must obtain a diplomatic franchise from the Argentine Ministry of Foreign Affairs through the diplomatic mission where they reside or the official agency where they are employed. New cars may be imported.
