New Customs Regulations Argentina
As previously informed new Customs Regulations have taken effect in Argentina for sea shipments. This new resolution is titled Resolución General de la Administración Federal de Ingresos Públicos Nro. 2744/09.
All bills of lading must now contain:
• Destination Agent’s CUIT number (unique tax identification code).
• Customer’s name as in passport followed by CUIT, CUIL or CDI. If the individual is not a resident, and does not have tax identification code, Passport number must be informed.
• If the party to be notified is different from the consignee, the CUIT number of that party must also be provided.
Consignation then should be as follows:
Complete name of Consignee (as in passport) followed by customer’s CUIT, CUIL, CDI or Passport Number c/o DESTINATION AGENT followed by their CUIT Address and telephone
If this information is not on the bills of lading, the cargo will not be allowed to be registered with Customs and will be blocked. This will cause delays and potential fines on the account of the cargo.
The first 6 digits of the ncm (harmonized code) number are not required for household goods shipments
